Kate Davis, Digital Messaging, Production and Motorsports Advisor

Kate Davis brings almost twenty years of television production, public relations and digital media experience to Social Media Sports Management (SM2). SM2 protects and maximizes valuable sports brands through digital, social media and real-time communications strategies, coaching, education, tactics, empowerment and teams.

Ms. Davis will serve as a digital messaging, production and motorsports advisor for SM2, while currently serving as director of Digital Video Production at NASCAR Digital Media. In her current role, she manages all video production for NASCAR.com and its content partners, while also managing the video needs of the Integrated Marketing Communications department.

A 14 year veteran of NASCAR, Ms. Davis has served in three different divisions of NASCAR, beginning as the senior manager of Broadcast Communications, in Daytona Beach, Fl. Utilizing her production experience, and racing knowledge, she helped maintain good relationships with NASCAR’s broadcast partners NBC and FOX, while expanding the sport’s reach with mainstream media outlets like NBC’s TODAY show, The Late Show with David Letterman and 60 minutes on CBS. Additionally, while in this role, Ms. Davis helped create and develop Chase Media Day, designed to utilize NASCAR’s best asset, its drivers, to promote a new playoff system to determine the NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion.

Ms. Davis moved to Charlotte, NC in 2007, to join NASCAR Productions, as director of News Media. While managing Video News Feeds, Satellite Media Tours and other video content for the NASCAR IMC team, Ms. Davis was also involved in the development of the NewsCenter facilities, consisting of two radio studios and a television studio, adjacent to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

After managing the needs of several media outlets utilizing the facility during the 2012 Democratic National Convention, Ms. Davis was tapped to build out and manage the Digital Video team as NASCAR re-launched NASCAR.com in 2013. While serving in this role, Ms. Davis managed the video coverage of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s second Daytona 500 win, Tony Stewart’s two Sprint Car accidents, and the new Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Playoff, while seeing consistent growth in viewership, up 47% on the NASCAR.com platform.

Ms. Davis began her career in television production, spending six years, at FOX Sports Net in Los Angeles, CA. Hired as a Production Assistant on the National Sports Report right out of college, she worked her way up to feature producer, focusing primarily on motorsports coverage. She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA.  Ms. Davis currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
