ATHLETIC BRANDS
As Part of National Initiative Designed to Educate, Empower and Equip Athletic Industry on Social Media, SM2 Deploys Preeminent Sports-Tailored Tools and Teams to Contain, Train, Manage and Leverage Social Media Madness.
LOS ANGELES (June 15, 2015) –Led by a team of industry leaders, Social Media Sports Management (SM2) has opened its doors to protect and maximize valuable sports brands through digital, social media and real-time communications strategies, coaching, education, tactics, empowerment and teams. SM2’s CEO, veteran communications and sports strategist, Carrie Gerlach Cecil, made the announcement.
“We have all seen the headlines about unintentional social media mismanagement in the sports community.” Cecil began. These missteps can cost professional sports entities and collegiate intuitions millions of dollars, and they can cost individuals their reputations and resources. When friends and colleagues came to us for help, our mission became to find a solution with them. Together we’ve answered the call by launching SM2.”
SM2’s comprehensive, full-service methodology mirrors nuances from both FORTUNE® 500 and the United States Government’s systematic approach to the evolving rewards and risks of real-time social media and digital information, technology and education. The company’s services and solutions are customized for athletic stakeholders and their constituents and present an organization-wide approach to jump the digital curve to avoid tomorrow’s crisis and increase today’s value.
“It’s no longer viable for us to address social media as a stand-alone department,” Cecil said. “Social media and the minute-by-minute technology must be an essential component within every department, company-wide. We have to ask ourselves, ‘How does social media fit into every room of our buildings?’”
SM2’s services and solutions include but are not limited to: Discovery Phase with Strategic Action Plans, In-Person Digital & Social Media Training, Customized Interactive Learning & Certification, Customized Digital & Social Media Policies & Procedures, Conversion & Revenue Marketing Campaigns, Real-time Communications & Crisis Management, Social Media Forensics & Risk Management, Content Moderation Across Platforms.
SM2 has assembled an exemplary team of executives ranging from veteran professional and collegiate sports advisers; experts from law enforcement and the FBI; digital, legal and social media specialists; marketers and real-time communications leaders.
They offer the A-list of digital trainers under one moniker to assist their clients.
“It’s one thing to understand digital and social media strategies and it’s another to understand the very special and sensitive nuances of college athletics and professional sports,” Cecil said. “By uniting experts in their categories who understand our clients’ goals, we are uniquely positioned with premier, customized, full-service and à la carte services. Our clients have the ability to strategically and tactically evolve and pivot between our services with a team they trust, to address their complex and individual needs.”
